This Website is the Real Art Project
You're looking at a fully functional e-commerce website built entirely through conversations with AI. I asked, Claude built. The paintings? Those are just here so we have something to sell.
The Experiment
Can an AI build a complete, production-ready webshop from scratch?
The Process
No templates, no drag-and-drop builders. Just conversation with Claude.
The Art (Bonus)
The art is honest work, even if it won't end up in museums.
How Did We Get Here?
It started as a question: "Could I build a complete webshop without writing any code myself?"
The answer, it turns out, is yes. You're looking at it. Every page, every component, every interaction on this site was created through natural language conversations with Claude, Anthropic's AI assistant.
This isn't about replacing developers—it's about exploring what's possible when you can describe what you want and have it built in real-time. The experience was less like traditional coding and more like having a conversation with a very patient, very capable collaborator.
What This Demonstrates
AI Can Build Real Things
This isn't a toy demo. It's a complete e-commerce solution.
Natural Language Works
Just describe what you want in plain English.
Iteration is Key
Through conversation and refinement, we got here.
Humans Still Matter
AI built it, but I directed it.
It's Reproducible
You could do this too. The barrier is lower.
Art is Subjective
The paintings might not be your thing, but maybe the code is beautiful.
The "Artists"
A generous use of the term, but here we are
Rick
Chief Paint Thrower
Self-taught, which is a polite way of saying nobody else wanted to teach me.
The Kids
Digital Natives
They make iPad drawings. Their lack of training is an advantage.
Built With
Impressed? Skeptical? Both?
Check out the art (no pressure to buy), explore the code, or just appreciate what AI can do these days.
